Constructed of durable aluminum and equipped with innovative features, Komperdell Shockmaster Pro Powerlock Compact trekking poles provide anti-shock performance for varied conditions and year-round use. Ergonomic, extended-length foam grips include integrated woven straps that help to reduce stress on your wrists. The grips extend well beyond the traditional handle, allowing you to change your hand position without having to make repeated micro-adjustments to the height of the poles. Lightweight anti-shock mechanisms at the base of the lower shafts have a dampening effect of the strike of the poles against hard surfaces. This passive design doesn't add any instability to the poles, but it does lessen the repetitive strain of constantly driving the poles into the ground and, in turn, it reduces fatigue over long hikes and extended outings. Powerlock 3.0 external locks are far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used on many telescoping poles. Simply push open the locking tab, adjust the poles to your required length and snap the tab back into place. The poles can be converted for winter use by replacing the summer trekking baskets (included) with one of the several styles of snow baskets (sold separately). The Tungsten/Carbide flex tips are designed to flex if the tip of the pole should get stuck, helping to protect the shafts from structural damage.
