NOW's Red Yeast Rice is a natural and vegan product that has been in use since 800 A.D. in China and other Asian countries as a traditional medicine. An ancient Chinese list of medicines revealed that patients would ingest Red Yeast Rice in hopes that it would alleviate their indigestion and diarrhea and otherwise invigorate their body and improve blood circulation. Its modern use is primarily for cooking purposes.
