The biggest advantages of DDR4 memory, which can only be used on compatible motherboards with DDR4 memory banks, at a glance: It consumes less power because the reference voltage is only 1.2V, while even DDR3 low-voltage memory was 1.35V. In addition, the - also official - clock rate range of DDR4 is increased, so that most bars work with more MHz. And finally, the memory density of DDR4 DIMMs has been increased compared to DDR3, so that individual modules can now have an even higher maximum capacity. The powerful DDR4 RAM from Team Group's T-Force Nighthawk series is explicitly aimed at users who are looking for something special in terms of performance and appearance. The modules, with their hand-picked chips and the Nighthawk-designed aluminum heat spreader, are ideal for working with high-end mainboards. In terms of design, Team Group has done everything right with the T-Force Nighthawk modules. The white aluminium heat sinks come in a symmetrical falcon design and create an aggressive look. Together with the RGB LED lighting with breathing effect, which is supposed to represent the eyes of the falcon, the design of the memory is perfected. The excellent heatspreaders also ensure optimum heat dissipation. The modules are hardly as warm as a hand and are predestined for overclocking tests not least because of the selected chips. As this is a large set of two 8 GB modules (16 GB capacity in total), the bars were tested for compatibility with each other to guarantee the best possible performance. They also offer automatic overclocking on compatible boards through Intel's XMP 2.0 (Extreme Memory Profile) technology. The 3,000 MHz are achieved with CL16-18-18-38 latencies at 1.35 Volt voltage, so there is enormous potential to drive both clock rates and latencies to peak performance.
